In two days Ukraine will celebrate Independence Day which takes count from the fall of the soviet union. We will be celebrating 33 years of Independence, but of course, the history of Ukraine is centuries long. Our capital Kyiv is 1542 years old! If you would like to learn more about Ukraine’s history and history of fighting against ruzzia Timothy Snyder (Yale University Professor) has very interesting lectures that are available on YouTube.
The USA intelligence warns Ukraine that ruzzia is preparing a nasty “greeting” for our Independence Day. No surprise there! No doubt they will try another massive missile and drone strike. They will do their best to continue destroying, killing and trying to sow fear. I remember on Independence day in 2022 we thought of going to suburbs for the day anticipating ruzzian strike. I don’t think any Ukrainian is making special plans to stay safe on that day. There won’t be big public celebrations, but in their homes, people will celebrate this important milesone because now the price of independence is much higher than it was in 1991 when the soviet union collapsed.
Please pray for God’s special protection for Ukraine on Independence Day on Aug 24th and through this war.
