From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 922)
But you, O Lord, do not be far off!
O you my help, come quickly to my aid!
Psalm 22:19
Last night, or shall I say this Monday morning, was loud. We heard the blasts really close, and several of our friends saw or heard missiles flying over their houses. Russia traditionally carries out massive missile attacks before dawn on Monday. It messes up everyone’s day or the whole week.
Today was the first day of school for all the public schools in Ukraine. Do you remember the jitters before your first day of school? Now add to it waking up from the explosions at 4 in the morning. It’s already our students’ second week of school, but many of them still felt a bit shaken after such a morning.
15 ballistic missiles (9 neutralized), 14 cruise missiles (13 shot down), and 23 kamikaze drones (20 neutralized) were launched at Ukraine.
Someone from a city close to the frontline shared a message they got from their school administration, “Please park further away from the school and avoid being seen in crowds on school property. We’re waiting for you inside. It’s a safety measure against enemy surveillance drones.” We know that they stop at nothing, so unfortunately, this message makes a lot of sense.
