Lithuania will provide Kyiv with EUR 10 million ($11 million) in funding to manufacture Ukrainian-made Palianytsia missile-drones, former Ukrainian Strategic Industries Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin announced on Sept. 6.
“We received new confirmation from the Lithuanian defense minister about the allocation of EUR 10 million to purchase Ukrainian Palianytsia missile drones,” Kamyshin said after a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany.
On Aug. 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has used Palianytsia against enemy targets. According to Zelenskyy, the new missile-drone is significantly faster and more powerful than other long-range drones produced in Ukraine.
The design was described as a mix between a one-way strike drone and cruise missile, powered by a jet engine.
