From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (936th day) —Being outside of Ukraine for a few days doesn’t mean completely relaxing and taking for granted the absence of air raids and bombings because they are still a daily occurrence at home. I still get an air raid notification on my phone and start monitoring news closely while air raids are on to understand what is happening. Missiles and drones have been a daily thing for some time now. Just in 16 days of September, over 640 drones were attacking Ukraine. Most of them, thankfully, were shot by our air defense. Just today, there were 56 drones, and 53 of them were shot down. The air raid in Kyiv lasted 3,5 hours.
I noticed today that the air raid application gave statistics that over the past 936 days, there had been 1257 air raids in Kyiv that lasted 1374 hours and 26 minutes. If those hours are converted into days – that’s 57 days! Those are hours (days) filled with deadly threats that you know are coming your way, sometimes very fast with ballistic missiles, sometimes a bit slower with drones. When your neighbor is a maniac – that becomes a way of life.
