For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light do we see light.
Psalm 36:9
In the past two weeks, Russians used more than 640 kamikaze drones against Ukraine. Just last night, they launched 56 drones, of which 53 were shot down. Twenty were aimed at Kyiv, but thankfully, they did not reach their targets.
While life in Ukraine is not safe by any means, I am once again reminded that the only safe place is in the arms of God. Thousands of Ukrainians left the country to be safe, yet they did not go far – Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, Austria… These countries that were the first to welcome Ukrainian refugees are now suffering from torrential rain and flooding. Lots of cities are covered with water, and the first casualties have been reported. Ukraine has offered to send emergency service units to help overcome the flood. It makes you wonder why those who fled from war or those who opened their homes to refugees must go through the terror of a natural disaster, but then I remind myself that we all depend on God’s mercy no matter where we are.
Let’s pray for those affected by the flooding in Europe and those affected by the Russian cruelty. May God show His mercy.
