But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.

Psalm 38:15

Our beautiful world is full of wickedness. This morning, I was showing my students a video clip about incredible ways animals camouflage themselves, and we were admiring God’s creativity and the beauty of His creation, but several hours later, I was sitting astounded by the amount of evil in this God-made world. Oh, how desperately we need our merciful Savior!

Today, Russians threw a high-precision guided bomb on a geriatric facility in Sumy. Geriatric care is only beginning to develop in Ukraine, and any type of assisted living, retirement home, or geriatric ward is a sad place where you will find seriously ill people who can’t be cared for by their own families. Most people in such facilities are bedridden and have no joy in life. Today, such a facility was bombed. They evacuated 221 people, some of them are in critical condition, and a 70-year-old woman was killed.

I was weeping while looking at the pictures from the site, but I decided they were too sensitive to share. It pains me to think about how these people must be feeling.
