Attacks on Russian munitions depots have become increasingly destructive, suggesting the use of a drone that may not fly far but has greater power and is available in large quantities.

Forbes reports on the explosions at munitions depots in Russia. Author David Axe notes that four days after the detonation of a massive arsenal in Toropets, located in western Russia, Ukrainian drones struck the site again, provoking a powerful explosion in Tihoretsk in Krasnodar Krai.

Citing the Ukrainian General Staff, Axe reminds readers that the depot in Tihoretsk is one of the three largest occupation munitions storage bases and is crucial for the logistical support of Russian forces.

Forbes speculates that Ukraine may have used its latest drone missile, the Palianytsia, for these devastating strikes. Axe emphasizes that the successive raids on munitions depots indicate a shift in Ukraine’s strategy to conduct deep strikes against strategic targets in Russia.

For months, Kyiv had requested permission from European and American allies to strike Russia using British Storm Shadow, French SCALP-EG, and American missiles but faced refusals.
