УIn the early hours of Monday, Oct. 21, Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully destroyed a Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
The operation was carried out by units of Ukraine’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in cooperation with other Defense Forces components.
The Russian missile system was located 60 kilometers from the frontline.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, depending on its modification, the Buk-M3 system is valued between $40 million and $50 million.
In August, Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed another Buk-M3 system in the Orikhiv direction, and also took out a Russian Osa air defense system near Velyki Kopani in the Kherson Oblast.
