10/23/2024 — “Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come…”

Today’s picture of the evening in Kyiv is by Serhiy Ristenko.

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 972)

Be to me a rock of refuge,
to which I may continually come;
you have given the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
Psalm 71:3

After several nights with air raids, I crashed last night, and what a blessing it was to sleep through the night undisturbed!

As I was thinking what to share about today, I went through lots of news reports and opinions. Some of them were hopeful, some were full of despair, but most of them were filled with uncertainty and anxiety. The truth is, none of us know what’s coming tomorrow. We may gullibly convince ourselves that we are prepared for anything. We may give in to despair and anxiety. We may ride this wild roller-coaster from one extreme to the other. Or we may trust the Lord one day at a time and allow Him to be our lighthouse in the midst of a storm.
