Türkiye supports Ukraine’s return to its 1991 borders but insists on a diplomatic resolution, Deputy Speaker Bekir Bozdağ said during the Third Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform on Oct. 24, according to Ukrinform.

“Ukraine is forging its own path and defending itself in a horrific war. At the same time, we must follow the diplomatic path and abide by international law. He also emphasized that Russia’s war against Ukraine began 10 years ago with the occupation of Crimea. Bozdağ reassured that Türkiye will continue to support Ukraine in restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, including Crimea.

On Oct. 21, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha arrived in Türkiye, where he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He thanked Erdoğan for Türkiye’s support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
