Ukraine’s agricultural sector has suffered $82 billion in losses due to Russian aggression, with the grain business alone incurring losses of $500-600 million, the First Deputy Agriculture Minister, Taras Vysotskyi, said on Oct. 25.
During the Russian attacks on Ukraine’s port infrastructure in October 2024 alone, damages amounted to $30-40 million, the official said during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, according to news agency Interfax Ukraine.
It’s difficult to give a final assessment because, unfortunately, the cases keep adding up,” Vysotskyi said.
“Insurance companies are assessing the damages, especially those that occurred recently due to intense strikes at the beginning of October. The assessment is still ongoing. But it is already clear that we are talking about tens of millions of dollars. We preliminarily assessed the latest attack at $30-40 million.”
