10/29/2024 — “I know that no prayer is ever lost, but it’s hard to keep going…”

Today’s illustration by Nikita Titov shows the silhouette of the Derzhprom building damaged by Russian bombs in Kharkiv.

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 978)

I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
Psalm 77:11

Every day, it’s getting harder to write updates. I feel like I’ve used up all the words, and the reports of destruction will not give you much.

Today, the Russians bombed the historic downtown part of Kharkiv and damaged a UNESCO-protected Derzhprom building, the first modern skyscraper building in the Soviet Union created in Constructivist style.
They also hit residential quarters in Kryvyi Rih. They shot at civilians in Kherson.

A location may be new, but the wickedness is still the same.

As someone pointed out today, every downed drone and missile are an answer to someone’s prayer. I know that no prayer is ever lost, but it’s hard to keep going. And it doesn’t mean that we will stop praying. No, we will keep on knocking and asking, yet we need the Lord to restore our strength.
