From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 986)
For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
listen to my plea for grace.
Psalm 86:5-6
This week is pretty busy. Our family is battling yet another virus that doesn’t really keep you in bed but still makes you feel nasty. School and family responsibilities leave me exhausted by the end of the day, falling asleep before I have time to check the news or write an update.
Tonight, I checked the major news of the day, and here is the summary:
– a ballistic missile strike on Zaporizhzhia: 6 dead, more than 20 injured
– first combat clashes between the Ukrainian army and soldiers from North Korea took place in the Kursk region
– in August, September, and October, Russia used 4,300 kamikaze drones in Ukraine
– Russian soldiers shot six captured Ukrainian soldiers
And the major international news is the presidential elections in the US that may affect Ukraine in more ways than one may wish to believe. I pray for these elections and trust that the people of the USA will use this wonderful privilege and right to vote and make a responsible and God-honoring decision.
In all of this, I remind myself about God’s sovereignty. I am so grateful that He is in control. I am so grateful that no matter what happens in our lives, He can make it work for His glory and our good. I am so grateful that He will still be in control no matter what comes tomorrow. Our security is in Him alone. Lord, help us to remember this.
