Babel spoke with Ukrainian military personnel to understand their concerns, including cooperation with the General Staff and mobilization challenges. Journalist Oksana Kovalenko shared her insights from these discussions in an interview with Radio NV.
– You’ve managed to speak with high-ranking officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To start, who did you talk to, and what general sentiments prevail among the military personnel you interviewed?
– To allow honest discussions, we agreed on anonymous conversations for our article. Our goal was to talk with soldiers across all levels—from those in the trenches to officers at the strategic level—to present a comprehensive picture of the situation.
– The situation at the front remains extremely tense, particularly in Donetsk Oblast, which is the focus of much attention. Perhaps the most pressing question is: why are the Russians managing to advance there? Did you ask this question to the soldiers you spoke with? If so, what were their responses?
