I ask, who can possibly imagine what the world would look like now without World War 2???
Forget an “iron curtain”, Europe would likely have ended up behind a ‘concrete fortress’ and been punished by the barbed wire of Hitler.
Who can image how many more Jews would have died and how the Axis would have leveraged their power politically and economically. America wouldn’t be the same power it is today.
I am proud of the way America handled WW2. They understood the costs and payed for it. And then they paved the way for economic and societal recovery for 70+ years. That’s a pretty good return on investment.
My father served in the Navy in WW2. I am proud of him and his generation. They were brave and did what needed to be done.
