From: Euromaiden Press — In an interview with CBN, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said Russia deliberately persecutes religious workers who prioritize serving people and God over allegiance to the Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill.
Kirill has consistently justified the war as a necessary defense of Russian and Orthodox values against perceived Western threats.
Ukraine banned religious organizations affiliated with Russia due to their open support of the invasion.
“Russians treat different Ukrainian churches approximately like schools,” Zelenskyy said. “Everywhere they entered our territories, they destroyed schools and churches. Simply to leave no trace behind.”
