Planned counterintelligence security measures are being carried out in Kyiv’s downtown Pechersk district, which houses the governmental quarter, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) announced in its statement on Telegram on Dec. 18.
The purpose of the measures is to check the anti-sabotage protection of state facilities and to increase the safety of residents of the Ukrainian capital and persons under state protection.

As part of the measures, security forces are conducting inspections in various areas, including offices, residential buildings, and public service facilities, to identify prohibited items. Citizens in the government quarter are also being subjected to document checks and inspections of their vehicles.
The SBU has warned of potential restrictions on passage and commuting in some areas of Kyiv and advised citizens to carry their identification documents with them. The State Protection Department, the National Police, and the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are all involved in the implementation of these measures.
