From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 1030)
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
Psalm 130:5-6
And just like that, our first semester is done. We still have a Christmas program tomorrow, but it’s hard to believe we made it with relatively few blackouts and air raids. It is God’s miracle and grace.
Last night, while I was finishing Christmas ornaments for my students, I was at the same time thinking about 44,000 Ukrainian students in the occupied territories who secretly (!!!) continue studying in Ukrainian schools online. They risk their lives and well-being to fulfill their fundamental right to education in their native language and without the brainwashing propaganda. And about hundreds of thousands of children who can only study online or underground because their cities are heavily bombed (like Kharkiv and Sumy).
Oh, we’ve been blessed with so much! My heart overflows with gratitude!
