12/24/2024 — It’s interesting how most of us have stopped wishing for a white Christmas…

For the Lord will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants.
Psalm 135:14

It’s interesting how most of us have stopped wishing for a white Christmas. Mild winters mean easier conditions for our soldiers and a lighter load for our energy system.

We’ve had about a week without blackouts, so we try to enjoy it while it lasts (and it’s not likely to last long with the holidays coming). However, we know that the Lord is faithful.
You might have seen in the news that Iran is going through a dire energy crisis. Government offices are closed or operating at reduced hours. Schools and colleges have moved to online only. Industrial plants have been denied power, bringing manufacturing to a near halt. We are not rejoicing at their misery even though the situation seems ironic. Iranian-made Shahed drones are responsible for the most damage to many power lines in Ukraine. So, the one who chose to side with Russia and immerse Ukraine in a blackout is suffering from the same problem.

Our power engineers often risk their lives to keep our homes warm and lit. What an incredible reminder to all of us that any profession can be a blessing and inspiration if you put your heart into it!
