Ukrainian Air Defense Forces successfully shot down 36 of 60 Russian-launched Shahed drones, 23 more failed to reach their targets, Air Force reported on Dec. 23.
The drones were launched from Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, the military said.
The attack was countered by anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare (EW) units, and mobile fire teams of Ukraine’s Air and Defense Forces.
Air defense operated in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.
23 enemy drones were rendered “locationally lost,” preventing them from reaching their intended targets due to Ukraine’s robust defense measures.
