From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 1041)
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
Psalm 141:2
Today, 189 Ukrainian defenders returned from the Russian captivity.
I don’t know if words can fully describe the whole range of emotions we are feeling. There’s joy for their release. Grief for those still captive. Hope that perhaps some that are considered missing in action will turn up among the POWs. Sadness for everything they had to endure in captivity. Mourning for those whose relatives did not live to see their release (there was at least one story of a soldier whose brother and grandmother were killed by a Russian missile a few months ago). Anxiety for the long recovery and rehabilitation process. Trust that the Lord will care for each one of them.
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted,
and will execute justice for the needy.
Psalm 140:12
