From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (1067th day)
Last night’s attack involved 61 drones and two missiles. One of the drones or its debris hit a residential building in Kyiv region. Among the injured is a 5-year-old child. There is also damage to infrastructure in Cherkasy region. Kharkiv has been attacked 3 times during the day. All these drones continue to bring harm, injury and death.
Meanwhile, we hold our breath, opening news feeds, trying to understand if the USA is going to continue supporting Ukraine’s fight against invasion or will help putin to accomplish his maniacal goals. One day Trump talks about his love for ruzzians, his excellent relations with dictator putin and his gratitude to ruzzians for helping to end WWII. It wasn’t ruzzia “helping”, it was the Soviet Union, which was a group of countries (including Ukraine). On another day Trump threatens to force ruzzia to stop war by hurting ruzzian economy with lowering oil prices. Great idea! We hope he follows through. Yet another day he says that Ukraine’s President Zelenzky shares the blame for starting the war. It would seem Trump should know that the war was started by ruzzia in 2014, 5 years before Zelensky became President. I guess Trump blames Ukrainians for resisting the army/gang of killers, looters, rapists, torturers who invaded our land and who continue daily missile/drone attacks on our sleeping cities?
Benjamin Morrison, an American missionary in Ukraine, when reacting to Trump’s comment about “Zelensky not being an angel”, wrote in his recent FB post about reasons people do victim blaming: “It’s simple: we convince ourselves that there’s something the victim did “wrong” to bring about their own suffering and, therefore, “If I avoid doing that, I can guarantee I’ll be safe. No harm will come to me.” We sacrifice the truth and further inflict damage on the one who was already attacked in order to create an illusion of safety for ourselves. But it is just that: an illusion. You can do everything “right” and still be attacked and destroyed by evil people. The suffering of the sinless Son of God proves that much. So no, “being an angel” is not protection from suffering (and probably a guarantee of it in a fallen world).”
One response to “1/26/2025 — Trump: ‘Victim Blaming?’ — You can do everything “right” and still be attacked and destroyed by evil people.”
I pray that right decisions will be made on behalf of Ukraine!
