Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, responded to statements made by far-right, pro-Russian Romanian presidential candidate Călin Georgescu.
“All these pro-Russian politicians, like the Romanian one, who start talking about some sort of ‘division of Ukraine’ only accelerate the discussion on the need to divide Russia and support national entities on the territory of today’s Russian Federation,” Kovalenko wrote on Telegram.
He added that an aggressive empire that uses others to push for a “division of the world” has no credibility and only strengthens the voices of those who see the creation of national entities within Russia as the right step to reduce global threats.
Earlier, Georgescu called Ukraine a “fictional state” and claimed its “inevitable” partition among neighboring countries.
When asked if he supports the division of Ukrainian territory, he responded: “One hundred percent.”
