The supply of U.S. arms to Ukraine, briefly halted in recent days, resumed over the weekend, according to four informed sources cited by Reuters on Feb. 3.
Two sources suggested this represents a departure from the initial decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to suspend all aid to Ukraine.
One source said that factions within the Trump administration have differing views on the extent to which Washington should continue to support Ukraine with weapons from its own reserves. The White House did not respond to requests for comments.
In the final months of his term, former President Joe Biden approved over $1 billion in aid to Ukraine from U.S. stockpiles, using presidential powers to allocate equipment and weapons without congressional approval. The report notes that after Trump took office, it was anticipated that due to accumulated delays, shipments approved under Biden would continue for several more months.
