2/6/2025 — The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped…

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 1078)

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Psalm 28:7

The days escape me before I have the chance to notice them.

It’s February already, and we’re all amazed we have lived through the two months of the calendar winter without major blackouts. We’ve had the warmest winter in the history of observation, and I am confident it is God’s miracle and grace.
We expect the temperature to drop at night over the next few days, which could lead to a massive attack on the power grid.

I have a student whose prayers usually say, “God, thank you that we survived the night (or day).” I sometimes feel the same way, but I know that we have no right to give up.

It snowed briefly today, and it seemed to be everyone’s highlight. It’s easy to feel like a child when it snows.
