From: Roman Sheremeta (Professor of Economics, Board Member, Founding Rector of American University Kyiv) — Next week, Keith Kellogg, US Special Envoy for Ukraine and russia, is supposed to visit Ukraine. I genuinely hope to be completely wrong about the current US administration and that the plan for ending the war in Ukraine will be just and fair.
But I have made my predictions four months ago, long before the US elections. I said that if Trump is elected, the US administration will:
1) Stop military aid to Ukraine.
2) Push Ukraine to give up its territory.
3) Block Ukraine from entering NATO.
If Ukraine accepts these terms, there will be a temporary cease fire.
If Ukraine refuses to accept the terms, the US administration will say they tried to stop the war, but Ukraine didn’t want to cooperate.
In either case, I don’t see a positive scenario for Ukraine. But I really want to be wrong about this!
