Journalist: Do you view Ukraine as an equal member of the peace process?
Trump: That’s an interesting question. I think they have to make peace… That was not a good war to go into. They have to make peace.
Three points:
- It is not “an interesting question.” Ukrainians are the ones fighting the war. So of course they are an equal member of the peace process.
- Ukraine didn’t “go into war.” They didn’t start the war. They are defending their right to exist.
- Ukraine wants “peace” more than anyone else. But surrendering parts of Ukraine to russia is not peace.
