2/20/2025 — ‘Zelensky – A Dictator Without Election’ – Really?

From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv — Trump and his “democratically elected” friend putin agreed that Zelenskty is a dictator. Why didn’t he hold elections in May this year when his term was up?

Apparently, some people see the logic in demanding elections in Ukraine as a step to ending ruzzian aggression on Ukraine. Though other than it’s putin’s demand there is no logic.

I have already answered several times why Zelensky is not doing elections now. To start with, while we have war, we have martial law and our Consitution is not allowing elections at that time. How is Ukraine supposed to have elections amidst drone and missile attacks, with 8 million refugees abroad, 20% of our territory under ruzzian occupation, millions of internally displaced and thousands of military on the front lines?! Is putin going to oversee elections on occupied territories? Putin wants elections in Ukraine to create a mess and is hoping to put his puppet in the President’s office. I can’t imagine it would work short of some interference in election systems – which I would not rule out. Ruzzia is famous for its skills in falsifying elections. But of course, if putin is not happy with the outcome of the elections, he can just cancel the peace deal since peace deal is the last step in the process he suggests.

In any case, why does Ukraine have to bend over backward to accommodate the demands of ruzzia? Maybe we should also demand that a real election is held in ruzzia and dictator putin steps down? He belongs to prison, not to president’s office anyway. Trump and Americans who are so concerned that Ukraine is run by a dictator don’t seem to be as worried for ruzzians who live under a dictatorship since 1999.
