President Trump called Zelensky a “dictator” because he cancelled elections. Another lie from Vladimir Putin. In actuality, Zelensky planned on going through with the election as he would easily win another six year term. But his political opponents stopped it as the Ukraine constitution does not allow for elections during martial law. So, it was not Zelensky who canceled the elections, but his opponents.
And then President Trump said that “Ukraine should not have started the war”. Where did that come from? That is Putin’s lie as well. That is like saying Poland started the war with Nazi Germany because it was not willing to acquiesce its sovereignty peacefully to the Nazis.
And the proposal given to Zelensky by Trump for further support was a shakedown. Ukraine is estimated to have $17 trillion worth of rare earth minerals. So, Trump was demanding half of it to recompense the U.S. for the $500 billion in aid President Trump claims the U.S. has given Ukraine. President Trump’s words to Zelensky were, “You can take the deal, or you cannot take the deal. You can be Russian, or you cannot be Russian.” That is a shakedown. It is the same as Al Capone entering a store, looking around, and saying, “You have a nice store here. It would be a shame if something happened to it.”
