Forgive our cries from under the rubble, cold trenches, and broken houses.
Sorry for their loudness, which prevents you from living in silence.
We know – you can get tired of them. Forgive us also for not wanting to die more quietly. We do not want to meekly surrender to a maniac who has come to destroy us.
We understand: it would be more peaceful for you. Not so much nerves, not so much responsibility.
One could simply throw up one’s hands, say: “Oh, what a horror” and continue working with a maniac and watching yet another film about the mysterious Russian soul.
But here’s the trouble – we stubbornly hold on to life. And this is annoying.
What to do about it? Maybe just take away the opportunity to defend ourselves?
So that the maniac gets more? To make everything easier? It is also possible to pretend that everything is our fault.
Forgive us for still struggling.
Forgive us for not being ready to give ourselves up to a crazy maniac without a fight.
