U.S. President Donald Trump plans to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 18, following “positive” Russian-US talks in Moscow, Reuters wrote on March 17.

He announced this to journalists aboard a plane returning from Florida to Washington.

“On Tuesday, I will speak with President Putin. A lot of work has been done over the weekend,” Trump said.

He claimed he will discuss with Putin the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.

“We will talk about land. We will talk about power plants,” Trump added, likely referring to discussions on Ukrainian territories and the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.

According to Trump, both sides are already talking about “the division of certain assets.”

“We want to see if we can put an end to this war,” he alleged.

“Maybe we can, maybe we can’t, but I think we have a very good chance.”

Earlier, Trump had claimed that the U.S. delegation discussed territorial concessions with Ukrainian officials during peace negotiations in Saudi Arabia. He also mentioned discussions about the nuclear power plant and “who it will go to,” referring to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP.
