These are Ukrainian cities just from the past two weeks.
Last night, Dnipro was burning, and earlier that same evening, Kharkiv was shelled once again. Before that, Kryvyi Rih, Sumy, Odesa, Kropyvnytskyi, and Kyiv came under attack.
Residential neighborhoods are being hit by ruzzian drones, with high-rise apartment buildings set ablaze.
Border and frontline towns are shelled relentlessly.
In one of these attacks, a 3-year-old child and her mother were killed on a playground today—a place meant for laughter and life, turned into a site of death.
This is our reality today. Ever since putin began promising Trump a “ceasefire,” which supposedly started on March 18th, the number of attacks has only increased. Is putin deliberately showing how powerless Trump is? Now, Trump himself says that maybe Putin is just “dragging out the time” and may not sign the ceasefire at all. Trump talks about it without any concern or offense, as if excusing putin – saying that he used to do that in business too. Being able to relate to putin’s personalities and strategies/tactics, is a wonderful foundation for friendship, but at least theoretically Trump’s and putin’s goals are not the same – one wants to end (or at least pause war) to get Nobel Peace Prize, another one wants to erase Ukraine from the map.
So—are there or will there be any real actions to pressure putin into a ceasefire or a peace deal? Most likely not. Instead, we can expect increased pressure on Ukraine, not to defend itself, but to capitulate.
