From: Roman Sheremeta — The United States has reversed its decision to shut down the Conflict Observatory — an initiative that has been documenting the abduction of Ukrainian children.
Using satellite imagery, biometric data, and other advanced digital tools, the Conflict Observatory has provided critical evidence of these deportations — including material submitted to the International Criminal Court.
This policy reversal, however, is only temporary. The initiative will continue its work for just six more weeks before handing over its data to Europol.
Earlier this month, the Trump administration moved to dismantle the program, abruptly cutting off a vital flow of evidence to prosecutors investigating the illegal transfer of children from occupied Ukrainian territories.
