I was driving with my son by my side today. I pointed out the beautiful sky. He said it looked as if it was hand-painted but then added, “But this sky is deceiving.”
When I asked him to explain, he said he didn’t mean the sky did something wrong. But it’s hard to believe that the sky that looks so peaceful during the day rains drones and missiles at night.
His thoughtful answer made me wonder how deeply our children feel this war while remaining children.
There was a “rain” of drones in Dnipro today, with many explosions and fires across the city. The drones are approaching Kyiv now, which means our usual night on a rollaway mattress. We’ll see what the morning brings.
