Ukraine has called an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following a Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih that killed 20 people, including nine children, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced on April 7.

Additionally, a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council is also scheduled.

“Both meetings will take place tomorrow and will help advance peace efforts while holding those responsible accountable,” he added.

Sybiha said Ukraine expects a firm condemnation from the international community and decisive steps in response to the Russian aggression.

“Russia must end its terror against Ukrainian children and civilians, respond to the U.S. proposal for a full ceasefire—which Ukraine accepted—and stop the war,” the minister concluded.

On April 4, Russia struck a residential neighborhood in Kryvyi Rih with a ballistic missile carrying a cluster warhead, killing 20 people and injuring more than 70. Nine of the fatalities were children.
