4/11/2025 — Six nations ready to contribute troops to Ukraine peacekeeping force

Some six countries, including Britain, France and the Baltic states, have so far indicated their willingness to send troops to Ukraine as part of a potential peacekeeping mission, AFP reportedon April 10 after the European defense ministers meeting.

London and Paris are leading talks among a “coalition of the willing” of 30 countries to back any deal that US President Donald Trump might strike.

“Our planning is real and substantial. Our plans are well developed,” UK Defense Minister John Healey told the meeting at NATO headquarters in Brussels, claiming progress had been made in repeated rounds of talks.

“Our reassurance force for Ukraine would be a committed and credible security arrangement to ensure that any negotiated peace does bring what President Trump has pledged, a lasting peace for Ukraine.”
