From: United24 — Russia has taken deliberate aim at Ukraine‘s environment. Vast areas of Ukraine are contaminated with landmines, toxic chemicals, and heavy metals. Hundreds of thousands of square miles of agricultural lands are decimated, the ground water is contaminated, and nature reserves are consumed by fire. To date, Ukraine is investigating 209 criminal cases of environmental war crimes, including 14 cases of Ecocide committed as part of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
