Tucker Carlson must’ve gotten another assignment straight from his boss in the kremlin — he’s back to spreading lies, this time targeting Western Christians. That’s a tactic both he and putin seem to love: push emotional buttons, twist the truth, and pretend it’s about “religious freedom.”
While Tucker Carlson yet again pushes his ridiculous lie about persecution of Christianity in Ukraine, I think I have every right to speak against those lies. My husband and I have been in church planting ministry since 1997 and we have many churches in our network – all of them gather and worship freely, thought some of them had to relocate from harms way when ruzzians occupied their cities. Under ruzzian occupation churches get destroyed, pastors are killed or imprisoned, but in free Ukraine they flourish!
I have many Christian friends who are pastors, chaplains, leaders of various Christian ministries that focus on evangelism, discipleship, church planting and relief work. Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants are united — preaching the gospel, volunteering, supporting communities, and even standing shoulder to shoulder in the trenches. Christianity in Ukraine is not being persecuted. It’s alive, active, and free.
The man Carlson interviewed is not a whistleblower — he’s a propagandist. He talks about churches being closed and believers being beaten, but conveniently leaves out one critical detail: the only churches being shut down are those that act as direct agents of russian disinformation — specifically, the ones under the Moscow Patriarchate, which openly supports putin’s war and spreads anti-Ukrainian propaganda from inside our borders.
There are two very different Orthodox churches in Ukraine. The Orthodox Church of Ukraine is fully independent, flourishing, and engaged in national life. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (moscow-affiliated), on the other hand, answers directly to ruzzian religious leaders who have called for Ukraine’s destruction. That’s not faith — that’s a political weapon dressed up in religious clothing.
What Carlson and his guest are doing has nothing to do with defending Christianity. It has everything to do with helping putin spread his poisonous lies.
To see how freely Christians in Ukraine gather and worship God watch our church service tomorrow – on youtube or on my Facebook page.
