Construction has begun on restoring the building of Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv after it was damaged in a Russian missile attack in July 2024, the Health Ministry announced on June 9.
According to the statement, the contract has been awarded to Riola-Modul after the company submitted the most cost-effective bid—nearly UAH293 million ($7 million), compared with an expected cost of UAH367 million ($8.8 million). Riola-Modul previously completed construction on the same Okhmatdyt facility in 2020.
Restoration work and technical supervision will be financed by the Okhmatdyt Children’s Health Charitable Foundation.
Planned repairs include restoration of building structures, roofing, façade, windows, and doors; interior finishes and engineering systems; and systems for medical gases, fire alarms, video communications, and lighting. Improvements will also be made to the landscaping and roadway surfaces.
