6/23/2025 — Missile Attack on Belgorod Dnestrovsky

From: Lyuda Betina — New war crimes against my hometown. Now the Russians have attacked a medical facility in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. Such a “greeting” on the Day of the Medic, which was a few days ago. The Russians are destroying churches, destroying medical facilities, attacking firefighters, and all this is not a coincidence, but a strategy… Continue to pray for Ukraine and resist at all levels…

  1. Dear Lyuda,

I am sorry to hear about the horrible attacks in your hometown! It was shocking and disturbing to see the destruction of the medical facility on the news.

May God give you all comfort and much strength!

    Praying continuously!

    Love in Christ,

    Jill

  2. Heart To Heart

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 1215)

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.
    Psalm 14:2

The sermon at church today was about suffering. One may think it is a depressing topic for a sermon, especially since we see too much suffering around us, but it left me surprisingly uplifted and inspired.

God didn’t promise to remove suffering from our lives on this side of eternity. He didn’t give us a magic formula to follow to avoid suffering. He won’t necessarily explain why bad things happen in our lives. But he did promise us one thing – He promised to be there with us every moment of our lives. He promised to walk with us through the darkest valleys. He promised to uphold us with His hand as long as we need it. He is in control, and He will take care of us in our deepest moments of suffering as long as we choose to run to Him and not away from Him.

The freedom I found in Christ when I got to know Him was the freedom to be myself. To know that I am loved and accepted without the need to perform or pretend. I can be weak, and He will be my strength. I can cry, and He will wipe away my tears. I can complain, and He will not judge me or trivialise my pain. I can be vulnerable with Him, and that’s when He will show His strength.

I pray that we all would learn to be vulnerable with each other. Let’s learn to share our burdens and our tears. Let’s also not be afraid to share our joys with others. Let’s look for opportunities to turn our suffering into a blessing for someone, even if it’s a simple saying, “I’ve been there. You’re not alone.” Let the name of God be glorified!
