7/20/2025 — “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?….”

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 1242)

Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God;
for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God.
Psalm 42:11

During the Global Interfaith Online Meeting, Jeff Fountain of the Schuman Center challenged the audience with a list of things that matter: justice, truth, faith, history, forgiveness, and prayer.

These are the things Ukrainians are standing for. Just the other day, I read an idea that fighting is important not for the sake of victory but for the sake of being honest before God and choosing the right thing. That’s why when people say russia is too big for Ukraine to gain victory over and we should give up, we strongly disagree and keep resisting. Because this is the right thing to do.

In the end, truth will prevail. And the truth is something that sends terror into the hearts of dictators. They are afraid of it because it can bring them down. In proof of that, the russian parliament secretly passed a law that makes it possible to punish people for looking up “extremist” information online. So, anyone who googles things that do not align with the official state politics may end up with charges, even if they used a VPN for the search.
The Soviet Union didn’t have the Internet, but it was also trying to silence the truth, and we know how it all ended.

Therefore, I encourage you to stand by things that matter and help spread the truth about Ukraine.
One of the ways to do this is to help people understand the true history of Ukraine. In his Weekly Word, Jeff Fountain will publish short lessons on the Ukrainian history leading up to August 24, the Independence Day of Ukraine. I will post the link to his first article in the comments.

May the truth prevail!
