From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 1269)
But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord.
At an acceptable time, O God,
in the abundance of your steadfast love
answer me in your saving faithfulness.
Deliver me from sinking in the mire;
let me be delivered from my enemies
and from the deep waters.
Psalm 69:13-14
Disgust. Shame. Grief. Disbelief. That’s what I feel when I see the red carpet unrolled for the war criminal. I feel humiliated by the honor shown to the one whose hands are covered with blood up to their elbows.
It is God’s mercy that I was busy with our staff retreat for the past few days, so I didn’t have too much time to read the news or focus on any expectations from the meeting that’s taking place in Alaska right now. Our theme verse for the retreat is the final verses of the book of Habakkuk, and they feel very fitting to our lives right now:
Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
(Habakkuk 3:17-18)
My hope and encouragement are the incredible support for Ukraine across Alaska, and especially in Anchorage. And the prayers and support from you, dear friends.
May God’s will be done
