10/20/2025 — “The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him…”

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 1334)

The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him, and the power of his wrath is against all who forsake him.
Ezra 8:22

Thankfully, there was no massive attack and no air raid for Kyiv last night. It’s unclear if the monitoring channels got the wrong information (usually, before the attack, they detect the radio communication on a specific frequency) or if something prevented it from happening. We may never find out, but I know it’s the hand of our God acting according to all the prayers.

Today, russian drones attacked a coal mine in the Dnipro region while almost 200 miners were underground. Amazingly, all of them have been rescued, and that’s yet another miracle.

Lord willing, I will be teaching at my beloved Bible School at YWAM Kyiv during our next school break (in early November). While preparing for the books of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Zechariah, I can’t help but notice that little has changed in the past 2500 years. There are rulers who are more supportive, rulers who seem to have forgotten their previous government’s decisions and need a history lesson, rulers who understand the need for restitution and reimbursement of all the damage, rulers with goodwill, and those who try to scheme behind your back and negotiate with other rulers to cause more trouble. I’m pretty sure many of you would notice some parallels here. However, as I’m studying these books, I’m also learning from their characters. Learning to trust God every step of the way, especially when it feels like circumstances are against you.
The verse from the book of Ezra stood out to me, so I betrayed my traditional Psalms verse and decided to use this one today.
May the hand of our God be on us tonight and every day.
