Message I sent today to the President:

Dear Mr. President,

I understand that you are again putting pressure on Ukraine to capitulate, instead of pressuring Russia to withdraw. This stands fully against our American interests: to promote Freedom and to withstand despots. Please listen to the American People, your BOSS, who largely desire to stand with Ukraine. We are a nation “of the people”, and your election was not carte blanche for the President’s personal whims.

I understand Ukraine and its struggles. I lived there 25 years, and I watched the Maidan Revolution from my windows in 2013. They wanted Freedom from corruption, Freedom from the so-called Russian Peace. And they continue to give their lives for these principles. Have WE abandoned these principles? If so, we are not worthy of praise or peace prizes, but only of everlasting shame.

Truly, we are not “the policeman of the world”. But the USA promised support when Ukraine gave up her nuclear missiles, and we have hardly come to her aid. That is not only a moral obligation, but a worldwide question of American reliability as an ally. And if Putin is not stopped here, WE will be defending Europe with our OWN troops next. This IS in America’s “national interest”.
