Serhiy Orel, CEO of the Dobrobut medical network, said the company’s priorities during Russia’s war of attrition include service safety and motivating its 3,500 employees. He spoke at NV’s “Business and Investment: How to Open New Opportunities” event on Nov. 27.

During the war, not only demand but also the structure of illnesses has changed. In particular, the number of patients needing mental health services has grown significantly, Orel said.

“We are opening mental health centers and investing in rehabilitation. The mental health segment has grown by 70% over the past two years. Dobrobut now employs more than 50 psychiatrists and psychologists — three years ago there were only six. Our social initiatives are also operating — we have been running a free psychological support program for the Hospitallers for the second year, as well as psychiatric assistance for women experiencing ambiguous loss under the Gidna project. Overall, over the past three years Dobrobut has provided nearly 300 million hryvnias in free care to civilians and the military,” the Dobrobut CEO said.

“We employ 3,500 staff, including about 1,400 doctors, and we currently have zero staff turnover. We invest heavily in training and psychological support for employees. Medicine is a profession in which people burn out very quickly, and the war has accelerated that. Yet despite the shelling, our 18 medical centers open every day at 8 a.m., and two hospitals operate around the clock. This is one of the things we are proud of now,” Orel stressed.
