3/8/2022 – Kyiv

Moderator’s note: At Pastor Sergei’s request, the normal security protocol’s we take to protect identities is not being employed.

From Pastor Sergei: “Friends, I am incredibly grateful to God that he helped my wife and my sons get to the border with the European Union. Now they are safe! This is indescribable news and comfort for a father’s heart!

“Yesterday, they asked me, ‘Pastor Sergei, how are you doing there, all alone?’

Brothers and sisters, I’m not really alone! I’m here with my brothers and sisters. The Lord is with us, right here and right now. He has us in his hands and says, ‘Don’t fear, son. Don’t be afraid, daughter. I control everything! I’m with you!” It’s incredibly comforting. It’s incredible motivation and therapy that He is with me! And he’s with you. He says the following words in the Gospel of Matthew: “Behold, I am with you!” This is the Lord Jesus Christ speaking to us. He is with us today; he is with us tomorrow; and He will be with us until the end of the age.”

  3. 💙💛 Northwoods Presbyterian Church, USA is praying for peace in Ukraine and for safety and encouragement for our Christian brothers and sisters.

  4. Pastor and brother Sergei,
We are encouraged and rejoice with you of the great news of your wife and son’s safe arrival to the border. Praise God! We also pray for your continued peace and joy in the LORD that “passes all understanding” to ” guard your hearts and minds in Christ”.
It is wonderful news to know that you Are holding fast to the truth that God is with you! Thank you for edifying and encouraging us in that promise. Our church in NYC will be interceding for you and your church continually in the days, weeks and months to come, for protection, provision and strength to proclaim Him and care for those in need. We pray also for comfort as so many brothers and sisters there are in dire need of courage, provisions, safe passage and heavy concerns of loved ones and those in physical/spiritual need. We prayed for you tonight and the Body of Christ. God bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and give you peace!

  5. Pastor, we pray for you and for all who are impacted by this war. May our Lord’s presence be continually felt by all of you. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
    Isaiah 41:10 ESV

  6. James 5- Take, as an example of patience in suffering, the prophets who spoke in the LORD’s name. You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the LORD: that the LORD is very pitying and of tender mercy.

  7. Ps 138 …though the LORD be high, yet He has repect unto the lowly, but the proud He knows afar off. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, the LORD will revive me. Thou shall stretch forth Thy hand against the wrath of my enemies and Thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: Thy mercy, O LORD, endures forever. Forsake not the works of Thy own hands!

  8. Thank you for the news!

It’s too long to type out, but for prayers of help and hope, read Psalm 138-146. It only takes about 10 minutes to read them out loud.
