3/8/22 – Interview with a pastor from Odessa

Pastor George: “Because of your prayers, our pastors are still alive. We are trying to be a good example for our kids, our wives… I’m not a really courageous person. I’m not. I don’t like to fight and that kind of thing. Yet it has happened now twice that I was in a war. The first time, it was in Armenia. Karabakh around 1990. And I thought that was it. But now, it’s the second time.  And now I’m a believer. I wasn’t then. So I look at the situation differently now. I don’t know if I would stay here if I weren’t a believer. But God is strengthening me, Praise the Lord! And I would like to strengthen others here. So… You, too! Be strong and courageous, brothers and sisters!”

“What shall seperate us from the love of Christ? Hardship, persecution, nakedness, famine, the sword– in all these things we are more than conquerers through Him Who loved us. I [Paul the apostle] am convinced that not life, death, powers, rulers, highs, depths, anything in all creation can seperate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  3. James 5- Take, as an example of patience in suffering, the prophets who spoke in the LORD’s name. You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the LORD: that the LORD is very pitying and of tender mercy.

  4. It’s too long to type out, but for prayers of help and hope, read Psalm 138-146. It only takes about 10 minutes to read them out loud.
