3/10/2022 – Kyiv

From Pastor Ixxx: Dear Friends, Thank you again for your prayers and encouraging words. We continue praying unceasingly for the Lord to lead Russia and Ukraine to a political resolution of this conflict that took such a vicious and bloody form. May our almighty God return the Russian troops back to their home country and heal the wounds caused by this war. You can’t even imagine how much hatred and hostility there is between our neighbouring countries now. There is so much anguish and grief! I have never seen it in all my life before.

May the Lord soothe and cure the pain of those who lost their loved ones. May the Holy Spirit comfort their hearts!

We also thank the Lord for the courage and valor of our Ukrainian people and for the spiritual revival that we see these days of trial on our land. There is no doubt the sovereign Lord is at work in the hearts of our people.

Meanwhile, we are still in Kyiv and are quite busy delivering food and medicine to the elderly people in our district. I prepare a small devotion in the morning and lead a prayer meeting in the evening for the Xxxx Xxxxx church every day online, even though the congregation is scattered across the country and overseas now. Also I stream a sermon to them on Sunday morning.

Our younger son Vxxx (18) signed up as a nurse at the intensive care hospital nearby as they prepare to take in the wounded. Mxxx (the older son) and Kxxx (the daughter in law) in the Western Ukraine helping the refugees.

The Lord is gracious to us and He keeps us safe.

So far, He graciously spared Kyiv from the massive destruction, even though the Russian troops have almost encircled our beautiful ancient capital city of Kyiv for almost a week now.

Grace and Peace!

Yours in Christ,

  1. Our Father in heaven,

Give us this day our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil for Thine is the kingdom, power and glory
    Thy will be done
Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as in heaven

  2. Matt. 28:
Jesus said “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me…Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

  3. Thank you for your letter. Praying this evening as you care for the elderly,
Grace and peace and God’s protection to you. Your family in Christ here in the US loves you and holds you up in prayer.

  4. Praying for you all and all of Ukraine many times a day!! So glad to hear of your safety and continuing work. May God continue to sustain you and your entire family!

  5. Ps 121 “…my help comes from YHWH,Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He Who keeps you will not slumber.”

  6. West Valley prayed for you this morning during prayer meeting. We prayed Psalm 40:11-17. We asked that the Lord would make haste to help Ukraine, that his steadfast love and faithfulness would preserve you, and those who seek to snatch away the lives of Ukrainians would be put to shame and disappointed.

  7. Prayers that you will continue to lead the lost to Christ, for safety of all, for healing of souls and body wounds, for peace, for the arms of Christ to bring you courage, love and comfort during these most stressful of times. I thank Him for helping me be so grateful for all that we take for granted here through your posts. How I wish I was young again and could come and help as a retired RN. Just know you are never far from my thoughts and always in my prayers. I am so happy I discovered this site.

  8. Christ Community Church in Greenville, South Carolina loves you and we are praying for all of you throughout each day. We’re following your Zoom calls and appreciate the updates. Our great God is the Almighty and we trust you to His tender mercies.

  9. Our prayers are with you daily! Also, prayers for the enemy – which feel wrong and unnatural. But God has commanded us to do so.

    May God’s kingdom be glorified!

  10. James 5- Take, as an example of patience in suffering, the prophets who spoke in the LORD’s name. You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the LORD: that the LORD is very pitying and of tender mercy.

  11. Ps 138 …though the LORD be high, yet He has repect unto the lowly, but the proud He knows afar off. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, the LORD will revive me. Thou shall stretch forth Thy hand against the wrath of my enemies and Thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: Thy mercy, O LORD, endures forever. Forsake not the works of Thy own hands!

  12. Thank you for the news!

It’s too long to type out, but for prayers of help and hope, read Psalm 138-146. It only takes about 10 minutes to read them out loud.
