From Lxxx (Day 19): Dear brothers and sisters, Today is a start of a new week and every day we wake up with a hope that this day will bring good changes. But the thought that so many people in Ukraine will never wake up brings us back to the reality of war.
Being here, in a relatively safe place, we are ready to help people whose houses are destroyed, who lost everything, who have no food. But while there is a threat of attack here people prefer to go west. So we concentrate our efforts today on helping the army and helping elderly and disables people in our town.
We had a good worship service yesterday though there were not many of us in the church. Few months ago a new lady joined our church, her name is Sxxxxx and she happened to be a very talented musician. She plays the piano and the keyboard. Now when all the musicians of our church group are away ( Ivan serves in the army, some left Ukraine) Sxxxxx with two other ladies of our church lead music worship and it brings a lot of joy to our hearts as we worship the Lord.
In the afternoon Sxxx made some home visits and visited an elderly couple. The husband is a retired military man. With tears in his eyes he told that for him, who served all his life in the army of Soviet Union, it’s so painful to see how Russian army destroys the peaceful life in Ukraine.
I talked to Dr. Axxx recently (she is a chief doctor of our medical clinic). Now she works in a medical center of our local defense. It’s unusual to see her in a military uniform. She told me how she misses the church. She sends hello to all her friends and says that she is sorry that she can’t answer the letters people send her, she is too busy now.
Please, pray for our country, for our army, for people who are in war zones and for the direction of our work.
