3/14/2022 – Kyiv

Courtesy of New Beginnings Charity: Foster Home evacuated (March 9th): Current foster parents and other members of Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church have been operating a foster home in Kyiv since 2004 with aid from New Beginnings charity. Church Deacon Oleg stayed behind as Natasha took the kids on the train to Poland: “As shelling got ever closer to our Kyiv foster home, Genesis House, we had no alternative but to evacuate seven of our children, aged between 7 and 17, leaving foster father, Oleg and 18-year-old Aleksey behind to face a future no-one is able to imagine. Having said a heart-breaking goodbye to her husband, our foster mother, Natasha, faced a grueling 12+ hour train journey with the children across Ukraine in crammed carriages to get to the Polish town of Chelm. They arrived on 10 March, exhausted, but safe and are being looked after thanks to the generosity of Polish social services.” These are kids we would see every week in church, and we pray for their future.

  1. Thankful for their safety. With prayers for those who fled and those who stay:

    Our Father in heaven:

    Deliver us from evil
Give us today our daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
    Thy will be done
hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
Thine is the kingdom, power and glory.
